Legal English Courses

In a field as precise as law, it is not enough to know the dictionary definition of a term or how to write a clause in a contract. Meaning and use in context are crucial, and only an experienced lawyer can convey this with sufficient depth and accuracy. Accuracy in the law is pivotal and the consequences of imprecision can lead to inapplicable and risqué outcomes.

Our Legal courses are designed around the Commercial aspect of the law and examine a number of key areas as well as focusing on writing and oral communication skills. Drafting and interpretation of contracts, writing reports, client briefs, examining court documents and similar legal process analysis.

We also design programmes focusing on specific skill areas such as negotiating, advising and advocacy. We take pride in delivering courses in areas as diverse as: Corporate Finance, Intellectual Property, Real property Law and Competition Law.

In addition to our personalised Legal English courses, International Lawyers benefit from a number of unique supplementary activities, designed and arranged to expose you to as many different aspects of the legal profession in the UK as possible.

ILEC Exam Preparation Courses

For any lawyer working with international matters, English is an essential tool. It is the common language of the legal profession, of business and of international affairs.

Employers need to know that the legal staff they appoint have an appropriate level of English to be able to communicate with clients and professionals in other countries, and to be able to deal effectively with material written in English.

Those who have recently qualified as lawyers, or who are still studying, need to be able to show employers that they have these skills.
